Will Venable scored the lone Portland run, as Josh Banks was rattled over four frames. Mike Baxter hammered two homers and knocked in five, but San Antonio still lost. Logan Forsythe goes yard while Bryan Oland learns this isn’t the Midwest League. Dan Robertson scores the eventual game-winner while Rob Musgrave, Tom Davis and the pitching staff allow just two hits, as Fort Wayne moves to 4-0.   Full Story

Tom Davis scuffled through his first professional season after tossing a career-high 90 innings in his final season at Fordham. Faulty mechanics were part of the problem, as the right-hander looks to build upon a season where he learned a lot about himself. As a result, Davis expects big returns in 2009.   Full Story
